Charlestown Town Dock filling begins.

1822

(ca.) The west arm of the dock is filled after the Salem Turnpike (today’s Chelsea Street) is extended to City Square, creating land just northwest of Chelsea Street and east of Warren Street.  The town fills the remainder of the Town Dock in 1835, creating the land between today’s Constitution Road and Chelsea Street opposite Constitution Wharf.
